I was part of a group of five students and a faculty editor who created a 32-page comic in the style of Harvey comic’s Casper the Friendly Ghost in two weeks; here is an inked page I did for the project.
First page of an eight page Victorian Gothic horror-themed comic I did for a class group anthology project. Am currently working on a WWI story, will put more drawings and sketches up soon, and am still working on WWII story, will hopefully have something to show of my graphic novel this spring
We were learning about digital coloring in class and had to choose one of our own images on which to practice, so I chose an old sketch I’d done of Dave Tough the drummer. Above is the color version without a black outline, and below is the color version with the black outline.
For a school assignment, requiring us to tell a journey-themed story in the style of Ed Emberley, who did a number of how-to-draw books. The idea was that the “simple” drawing style would free us up to focus more on the story and page design than the art.
The assignment due this week was to create three autobiographical comic strips in the style of, and with as similar tools as possible, of the artist we were assigned: mine was George Herriman who created/wrote/drew “Krazy Kat,” and this is what I came up with for the assignment.
I'm an artist writing and drawing a graphic novel that takes place during the Second World War. On this blog I will display the sketches I do in researching and preparing for the book.
