art project: final drumhead

last one in the art project I've been working on, will go in between the other two (with the first one in b/w on its right and the color one on its left) to tie them together. all three show images from different decades of a particular drummer, thought that would be interesting. also, you'll have to pardon the bottom right one on this one, it's done in colored pencil and reflects funny when photographed. and while the other two were done in one style each, this guy's known for doing all sorts of styles of drumming (studio guy) so each decade has a different drawing style.

Interests Sketch

These sketches might seem completely random, but in doing research for my characters I've been delving into their interests too (they're not JUST soldiers), so college football teams from the '30s and jazz drummers from around that time are on that list. I've been sketching as I read.

I'm an artist writing and drawing a graphic novel that takes place during the Second World War. On this blog I will display the sketches I do in researching and preparing for the book.
