Art Project: Drumhead 1

This is a little different from what I usually post, and I have been working on character sketches for my book so I will be posting those soon, but I had an opportunity to come up with an art project for myself this year, kind of a homework assignment, to see if I could do it. So I'm doing three drumheads, drawing on them, each one of a different drummer, showing images from several decades of the same drummer. Thought this would be interesting. Plus, each drumhead's in a different style. Within a month, I got two done, and I'm working on the third one. So here's the first.

I'm an artist writing and drawing a graphic novel that takes place during the Second World War. On this blog I will display the sketches I do in researching and preparing for the book.
